International Power plc is an international electricity generator formed in 2000 by the demerger of National Power. The group's UK businesses were spun off as Innogy and with the remainder of National Power renamed International Power. International Power was listed on the London Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange (as ADRs), on 2 October 2000. The ticker symbol on both stock exchanges is "IPR".
After a two and a half year absence International Power rejoined the FTSE 100 Index in March 2005.
International Power plc is a leading independent electricity generating company with 18,543 MW (net) in operation and 1,042 MW (net) under construction. International Power has power plants in operation or under construction in Australia, the United States of America, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Germany, France, Turkey, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, Puerto Rico and Thailand.
International Power is headquartered at Senator House, 85 Queen Victoria Street in the City of London.
