La Metal Blade Records è una casa discografica che produce dischi perlopiù di generi come thrash metal, death metal e progressive metal.
Essa venne fondata da Brian Slagel (un amico di Lars Ulrich) nel 1981 e le sue principali sedi si trovano negli Stati Uniti, in Germania e in Giappone. Nei primi anni della sua vita, la Metal Blade ha pubblicato varie compilations denominate Metal Massacre e divise in vari volumi. Queste compilations ha contribuito a rendere celebri vari gruppi, tra cui Metallica, Overkill, Slayer, Armored Saint, Virgin Steele e via dicendo.
I prodotti della label sono distribuiti negli Stati Uniti dalla Sony BMG Music Entertainment/ RED Distribution.
Questa casa discografica è una delle più prolifiche a livello mondiale e vanta una miriade di noti dischi prodotti.
