The animated television series Futurama is set in a time when galactic travel is commonplace, and the series features a wide variety of inhabited worlds. Some planets appear directly, while others are only referenced in dialogue.

These planets are actually visited or seen close-up during the course of an episode.

Amazonia	A planet inhabited by giant female warriors, ruled by a giant "Femputer". The surface is covered in tropical rainforests, as well as many lakes and some visible meteor craters. The Amazonians are fond of basketball, and make up for their inability to dunk with their good fundamentals. Most men who land on Amazonia are almost immediately condemned to death by snu-snu, where they are subject to repeated bouts of sex with the Amazonians until their pelvises are crushed. Unbeknownst to the Amazonians, apparently, this is the way in which most men would prefer to die.
Amphibios IX	Kif Kroker's home world, where he gives birth to his children. A lush planet covered mainly in tropical rainforests and swamps. Among its native species is the poisonous froad, a giant cross between a frog and a toad. Glab, the female President of D.O.O.P., is also a native.
Bum Base Alpha	A very small planet (possibly a planetoid) that is the biggest hobo jungle in the quadrant. A space-rail runs right past it.
Chapek IX	Chapek IX, a world of "radical robot separatists" where "humans are killed on sight", appears in "Fear of a Bot Planet" when Bender, Fry, and Leela go there to make a delivery. It is named after Karel Čapek, a Czech writer who coined the term "robot". The planet was colonized centuries ago by a group of radical robot separatists who despised working for humans and wanted to kill them all. These radical robots eventually created the five Robot Elders. The Robot Elders run the planet, though only from underground where they can not be seen. It is the Robot Elders who continue to feed the robots living on the planet lies about super-powers humans possess in order to maintain a certain level of fear and animosity. Above ground, the robot colony is run by a robot mayor. Every day a human hunt takes place at 5PM, yet for 146,000 days in a row no humans have ever been caught. After Fry, Leela, and Bender deliver the package to the robots whilst escaping from the planet, the robots praise humans for providing them with much needed lugnuts. Although it is not clearly stated, it could be assumed that after that delivery, the robots no longer hated humans.
Cyclopia	Home of Alkazar, a shapeshifter with whom Leela has a brief relationship (in the episode "A Bicyclops Built For Two"). The surface area appears to be in ruins. There is some doubt whether this is the actual name of the planet, or if the name was changed to accommodate Alkazar's ruse.
Decapod X	Dr. Zoidberg's (and the Decapodian) home planet, mostly a giant beach. Decapod X appears to be in orbit around a gas giant planet.
Earth	The main planet in Futurama; Planet Express's home planet.
Eternium	Homeworld of the Nibblonians, the most ancient race in existence (the race was already 17 years old when the universe was forged in the Big Bang), at the exact center of the universe. When we see the planet on screen, the subtitle appears, "Inconceivable dimensions not shown". Eternium is sometimes incorrectly called "Nibblonia" by fans.
Mars	The Red Planet, terraformed, home to Mars University. The planet's Western Hemisphere is owned by Amy Wong's parents, an ancestor of whom acquired it by 'duping' the Native Martians. Buggalo (cow-ladybug like insects) live on it as well. In the Futurama universe, Mars is habitable, with an atmosphere that has sufficient oxygen for life to exist. The Wong Family reside in a ranch house there and own at least half of the entire planet. The Wongs also donate much of their fortune to Mars University, one of the best colleges in all the galaxy. Mars mirrors the American West in the days of cowboys and Native Americans in that the college students and the Wongs encroach on the land of the native Martians.
McPluto	Formally Pluto, a former planet turned dwarf planet in the Solar System, this icy world is now a large wildlife preserve populated with penguins and other polar creatures. Reference to McDonalds buying the planet in "The Problem with Popplers".
Mercury	Fry and Amy visit Mercury under a blazingly close sun, to test out Amy's new car. There appears to be little human habitation on the planet, with the notable exception of one symbolically-named gas station (Hg's Gas), whose sign reads: "The only gas station 'til you circle the planet and get back here!" Amy and Fry ignore it.
Near-Death Star	An artificial planet where 160 year old humans are taken so they are out of the way on Earth. A reference to the Death Star from Star Wars.
Neptune	Home of the Neptunians, a race of four-armed, purple humanoids to which Elzar the chef belongs. Robot Santa makes his home on the north pole of Neptune.
The Neutral Planet	Where everything is grey, the official motto is "Live free or don't", and the officials have "no strong feelings one way or the other". When Zapp Brannigan attempted to attack the planet in "Brannigan Begin Again", a "beige alert" was issued, and the leader of the neutral planet said "If I don't survive, tell my wife 'Hello'".
Omega III	A 'forbidden planet', featured in "Where No Fan Has Gone Before", where the original 79 episodes of the banned Star Trek was first jettisoned to, subsequently retrieved by the Planet Express crew. Home to Melllvar, a member of an unnamed energy/gas cloud-like species.
Omicron Persei VIII	A planet inhabited by the Omicronians, and ruled by Lrrr. The Omicronians have a saying, "men are from Omicron Persei VII, women are from Omicron Persei IX," a reference to the book "Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus." The Omicronians repeatedly attempt to take over Earth.
Osiris IV	A planet similar to ancient Egypt, as the two cultures apparently were in contact; for a short period ruled by Bender in the position of Pharaoh.
Pova IX	A planet featured in "The Lesser of Two Evils" that hosted the Miss Universe pageant. Appears to have been colonized by humans in the past.
Spa V	The sauna planet. Previously home to a forced labour camp, but now all the work is done by a single Australian.
Spheron I	A planet formerly inhabited by a race of creatures whose corporeal form resembles a spheroid or ball. In the episode "War is the H-Word", President Nixon's head commands Earth's forces, lead by Zapp Brannigan, to invade. With the help of Bender and Henry Kissinger's head the natives were 'convinced' to leave the planet forever.
Stumbos IV	A high-gravity planet featured in "Brannigan Begin Again", where the crew are ordered to deliver pillows to a hotel situated there.
Tarantulon VI	A planet inhabited by the Spiderians. The D.O.O.P. raged a war there and bought back $1 trillion worth of silk and treasure back to Earth, resulting in the $300 tax refund. It is mainly featureless. Interestingly, the Spiderians are more closely related to elephants than spiders.
Trisol	A desert planet with three suns and apparently water-based inhabitants. It is located in the darkest depths of the Forbidden Zone in the Galaxy of Terror ("It's only a name!"). Fry accidentally drinks the Emperor in the episode "My Three Suns", and Leela discovers a plot that that's how every Emperor succeeded the former.
Tweenis XII	The third known world that the Brainspawn destroyed.
Venus	Not much is revealed about Venus on the show except that much of it has been terraformed into a bright pink jungle with significant volcanic activity.
Vergon VI	Vergon VI appears in "Love's Labours Lost in Space". In the episode it is revealed that the planet was once full of dark matter deep under its crust. After all the dark matter was mined out, the planet was left hollow and in danger of implosion. The planet's surface was full of oxygen and was also capable of supporting life. Nibbler was found (but did not originate) on this planet by Leela. In addition, an entire collection of animals found nowhere else in the universe thrived there. The Planet Express crew travel to the planet in order to save the animal population, yet through a series of uncontrollable events fail to do so. In the end, the planet becomes so unstable that it finally implodes and is reduced to nothing but crust fragments. This is not a total distaster because as Fry pointed out, some animals survived on the collapsed planet. It is also revealed by Nibbler in "The Why of Fry", that he would be stationed on Vergon VI. On the same episode, the viewer learns that Nibblonians defecate dark matter. It is unclear whether Nibbler alone, or other Nibblonians are responsible for the large amount of dark matter on Vergon VI.
Wormulon	A planet famous for the production of a soft drink called Slurm. Slurm's advertising catchphrase is "It's highly addictive". Wormulon has a ring system similar to Saturn's, but has been manipulated to display the Slurm logo.

These planets are known to exist in the Futurama universe due to the dialogue or scenes of an episode, but are never actually seen in any detail.

Africon IX	Referenced in "Raging Bender" on a poster in the movie theatre showing the movie 'Shaft on Africon IX', a reference to the movie Shaft in Africa.
Altair	In "The Cyber House Rules", Adlai and Leela walk past an Altairean Bouquet Tree. Altair may simply be the name of the planetary system, and not the planet.
Arrakis	The Miss Universe Pageant featured a contestant from Arrakis. A reference to Frank Herbet's Dune novels.
The Brain Slug Planet	Home of the brain slugs, a race that controls other intelligent beings by attaching to their heads (they also seem to devour their hosts' brain matter). An Earth-based political party affiliated with the brain slugs advocates massive subsidies for this planet.
Cannibalon	The cannibal planet.
Cineplex XIV	The movie theater planet, requiring constant shipments of movie-grade popcorn.
Cowboy Planet	Destroyed in "Love and Rocket" by the vaporization of the candy hearts
Cygnus V	Home planet of the Cygnoids that work across the street from Planet Express in the pizzeria.
Deamenor	The Miss Universe Pageant featured a contestant from Deamenor.
DogDoo VII	Located at the edge of the universe (a joke involves the crew being tricked by two boys into going to the made-up planet of DogDoo VIII, only to return a week later to report that "the universe ends after DogDoo VII!").
Don Martin III	The second known world which the Brainspawn destroyed.
Ebola IX	The virus planet.
Eden VII	A planet which was successfully carpet bombed by Zapp Brannigan.
Fantasy Planet	Where everyone's fantasies come true. A take on Fantasy Island.
Gangster Planet I	Destroyed in "Love and Rocket" by the vaporization of the candy hearts
Gangster Planet II	Destroyed in "Love and Rocket" by the vaporization of the candy hearts
The Globetrotter Homeworld	Home of Ethan "Bubblegum" Tate, the Harlem Globetrotters, and Globetrotter University.
Heaven	The Miss Universe Pageant featured a contestant from Heaven, who was a being of pure energy with no corporeal form.
Hoth	In "The Sting", Hermes exclaims "Sweet three toed sloth from ice planet Hoth!" He said this before Leela woke from the coma, so it may or may not exist. A reference to Star Wars.
Hovering Squid World 97A	Home to (apparently) the universe's only other Philip J. Fry in existence on December 31, 1999. Possibly a reference to the Blooper, a Squid enemy from the Mario series that sometimes hovers through the air.
Jupiter	Home to a university, Jupiter State. The monolith from 2001: A Space Odyssey orbits the planet, although it is out of order. It smells like strawberries.
Klingon	Has an embassy on the same street as many other planets on Earth.
M-14	A planet whose inhabitants are not allowed to view certain movies.
Methane Planet	The Miss Universe Pageant featured a contestant from the Methane Planet who resembled a floating human female composed of methane gas.
Nigel VII	Referenced in "Kif Gets Knocked Up A Notch". The Planet Express crew are ordered to deliver an extremely large pill there. A reference to the fictional planet of Rigel VII.
Nylar IV	Inhabited by "Yarn People".
The Octillion System	This galactic system of planets is mentioned in "Love's Labours Lost in Space" when Leela tells Fry and Bender that Zapp Brannigan single-handedly defeated a rampaging horde of killbots there. In actuality, Zapp sacrificed his own men by sending wave after wave of them at the killbots until their 'preset kill limit' was reached and they shut down.
The Planet of the Moochers	Where the inhabitants constantly leech off of others.
Saturn	This planet smells like pine needles.
Shrimpkin Planet	Most likely destroyed prior the events of "Godfellas". Part of the Shrimpkin race was found on an asteroid which may have been part of the Shrimpkin homeworld.
Sicily VIII	The mob planet. (Possibly one of many)
Space Earth	Leela makes an off-camera delivery there in the final episode.
Space Rome	The first known world the Brainspawn destroyed.
Unnamed Planet #2856-B	The Miss Universe Pageant featured a contestant from Unnamed Planet #2856-B
Urectum	Formerly Uranus, astronomers renamed this planet in 2620 "to end that stupid joke once and for all."
Vega IV	Also known as Paramecium Homeworld. Despite being apparently single-celled creatures, its inhabitants reproduce sexually (or at least have "womanoid" forms). A news report mentions that this planet is attempting to wipe out the human race.
Zuban V	Zuban V seems to be inhabited by a race that is very small and mummifies its leaders like Ancient Egypt (cf. Osiris IV above). In "I, Roommate", Professor Farnsworth owns the sarcophagus of Emperor Nimbala, who ruled the planet over 29 million years before the year 3000. Incidentally, Fry eats Nimbala's mummified remains, thinking that they are beef jerky ("I wanted to eat that mummy!"). In the same episode, the Professor gives Fry the mummified Zephulon the Great, who apparently is "teriyaki-style". There is also a race known as the Zubans that are also known for their cigars, similar to the Cubans of today. It is unknown if these Zubans are the same as those of the jerky-like mummies.

[edit] Fictional/possibly fictional planets

Due to the nature of their appearance in the show, it is not known if the following planets actually exist within the Futurama universe.

Nintenduu 64	During the second use of the "What If?" machine, Fry decides to see what life would be like if all of the universe was a video game. The planet Nintenduu 64 then attacks Earth à la Space Invaders. This planet may not exist in the "real" universe as it was only referenced in a "What If?" machine scenario. The name is an obvious parody of the Nintendo 64.
The Radiator Planet	Where Fry assumes the "radiator woman" he just made out with is from in the episode "Lesser of Two Evils". (The existence of 'The Radiator Planet' is still in question. He was probably just making out with a radiator.) Possible reference to David Lynch's feature film Eraserhead.
Rigel VII	The home planet of Kang & Kodos from The Simpsons. In the Futurama/Simpsons Infinitely Secret Crossover Crisis Lisa used a holophoner to project the image of Rigellians. However, this event took place inside the comic book, thus meaning Rigel VII most likely doesn't exist.
Robonia	Bender claimed to be from a fictional(?) "Grand Duchy of Robonia" so that he can compete in the Olympics in the episode "Bend Her". It is uncertain whether Robonia was supposed to be a place on Earth, or a different planet. It most likely doesn't exist because none of the judges had ever heard of it
Subterra III	Home of the eyeless Mole People, who according to Alkazar (in "A Bicyclops Built for Two") fired missiles at Cyclopia because they were jealous of their visual prowess. Unclear whether an actual planet, or part of Alkazar's ruse.

[edit] Non-canonical planets

These planets appeared in a Futurama source other than the television show (such as comic book or video game) and thus are not considered strictly canonical.

Bogad	Appearing in the Futurama video game, the Planet Express crew visits Bogad to seek the advice of Adoy (Professor Hubert Farnsworth's mentor), during the course of the game. A vast swampy planet, its name is Dagobah partially spelled backwards, and the universe ends at one point right after it. Due to the unclear canonical status of the game, this planet may not exist in the actual universe per se.
Fedex XII	Appearing in Issue #2 of Futurama Comics, the Planet Express crew were kidnapped and taken to Fedex XII by Upsilons to learn the secrets of intergalactic delivery.
Colgate VII	Mentioned in Issue #3 of Futurama Comics, this planet is the "Toothbrush Capitol of the Universe." The Planet Express crew were scheduled to make a delivery of used dentures there for laser dental floss testing.
Nosferatu IV	Appearing in Issue #3 of Futurama Comics, this planet is the home of many vampires.
Da Nang IV	Appearing in Issue #4 of Futurama Comics, this is a jungle planet that D.O.O.P. is waging war against.
Panama Jack VII	Mentioned in Issue #4 of Futurama Comics by Kif Kroker as a planet where the Planet Express crew could escape to instead of going to Da Nang 4.
Igloopiter	An icy world seen in Issue #6 of Futurama Comics.
Alice in Wonderland Planet	Mentioned in Issue #11 of Futurama Comics.
Mariah	Mentioned in Issue #15 of Futurama Comics.
Aquarius XII	Mentioned in Issue #16 of Futurama Comics. An ocean planet.
Curriculax	Seen in Issue #16 of Futurama Comics. It is a school planet. Fry, Leela, Bender and Cubert temporarily attended the boarding school here.
Maiya Williams VII	Seen in Issue #20 of Futurama Comics.
Krypton	Mentioned in Issue #21 of Futurama Comics.
