The ABBA song "Money, Money, Money" was recorded in 1976 by the Swedish quartet and released in November that year, with "Crazy World" as the B-side of the single. It can be found on their album Arrival. To this day, "Money, Money, Money" remains one of ABBA's most-popular tunes.[citation needed]
[edit] The song
"Money, Money, Money" was written by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus. The lead vocals were sung by Anni-Frid Lyngstad. It was released later in 1976, coming after the worldwide success of "Dancing Queen". The song's musical style, and the music video that accompanied the song were very reminiscent of the film Cabaret, and the video's director, Lasse Hallstrom, has acknowledged "Money, Money, Money" as the best of the ABBA videos that he directed.
[edit] Chart Success
"Money, Money, Money" was another successful chart hit for ABBA. It gave the group their last number one hit in Australia, where ABBA-mania had reached its peak. It also topped the charts in Belgium, Mexico, New Zealand, the Netherlands, and West Germany. In Norway, Ireland, France and Switzerland, the single peaked at number two, and in Austria and the United Kingdom, it reached number three. The song was also a top ten hit in Finland.
