My Admin Policy: I trust that my fellow admins' actions are done for the good of Wikipedia. So if any of my admin actions are overturned I will not consider such an action to be a "Wheel War", but rather an attempt to improve Wikipedia. If I disagree with your action, I will try to discuss it with you or with the admin community, but I absolve you in advance of any presumption of acting improperly. We should all extend the same benefit of the doubt to our fellow admins, until they repeatedly prove that they are unworthy of such a presumption.

I fell for this trick while looking round your user pages. I like the signature linking to a welcome page, and the graph of admin seniority blocs is interesting. Should the blocs get longer or narrower over time? I was hoping to find that your username was something to do with Endless September, but I guess I'll have to settle for the lucky month explanation instead! Oh, before I forget, thanks for all the work you do on the Admin project. A nice slice of Wikipedia history there. Carcharoth 14:58, 9 January 2007 (UTC) Related talk: here [edit] Your subpage on subpages and my subpage for an editor's indexThanks for the note; I'm glad you find my index helpful. I've been a bit surprised myself how useful it has become to me even in its unfinished state, and that it actually seems to be scaling pretty well. The universe of useful pages doesn't seem to be infinitely expanding as I explore it, which gives me hope of getting somewhere near completion, though Wikipedia changes all the time, so an index is never "done", as you say. I've also found your subpage to contain a lot of useful resources, and have added it and some of the listed subpages to my index. Since my index is aimed at editors, however, the two lists are likely never to have that much overlap, I'd guess, which is fine, since my goal is not to become the (English) Wikipedia Librarian. John Broughton | Talk 15:41, 10 January 2007 (UTC) Related talk: here [edit] Greetings in returnI hadn't seen the Wikiproject Law group, but it certainly looks like the kind of thing that I would enjoy working on. I think that our shared goal of listing all the current federal judges is an excellent one. I've also been working at putting together short pages with limited biographical information on each of them, starting with the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Perhaps a group of people might be able to start working on each circuit and then work our way down. Anyway, thanks for the heads up on the Wikiproject. Related talk: here [edit] Successful adminship requests listHi. I was checking something on Wikipedia:Successful adminship candidacies#Archives and noted that at least two successful requests (Brad Beattie and 1ne) don't seem to be listed. Before I went ahead and added them, I was wondering whether there was something I might be missing. Regards, Newyorkbrad 17:28, 26 January 2007 (UTC) [edit] JudgesI notice this! (see User:CHV as an example.) Is there a way to include only enwiki admins into the category? I suppose we could also create new categories for admins of other projects, or create a parallel template for non-enwiki usage. I'm not sure how best to proceed. You seem to know how to handle these template parameter things. What do you suggest? NoSeptember 17:20, 27 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] RfA statsHi NoSeptember! I know you are very interested in requests for adminship, so I would appreciate your opinion on a page I've been working on, located here. It basically lists stats from every successful RfA (so far from September 06 to now) including edit count, length of time here, percentage, promoter etc. I hope nothing has been done already, as it took quite a while to do. This is also why I always put the edit count on the talk page of every new RfA I visit if it hasn't been yet – you can never know when it might come in handy ;) Anyway, I would really appreciate it if you'd take a look. I had already created the table before I saw your message on WT:RFA. Obviously, I respect your opinion and agree that we need to procede carefully ... but I also think that having a pre-vetted list of people to consider nominating that we know are qualified candidates is potentially a very helpful thing. --BigDT 01:32, 6 February 2007 (UTC) [edit] an old warninghttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:82.48.225.175 Thank you for your clarification. [edit] Admin promotionsAs you did this graph, I wonder if you might consider making a graph on admin promotions, perhaps with bars for the monthly promotions and a line for the 6-month rolling average (data is here in the 1st and last columns). [edit] The Reserve at Lafayette Hill deleted articleHi, I'm one of the people who worked on the article for The Reserve at Lafayette Hill (I'm basically the only one who knows how to use a computer well enough to do it so I was elected). If I am understanding correctly you deleted it because it was some kind of advertisement? I don't know how to respond to that! I mean, it was created because it's a major local landmark, and an important part of the regional landscape in this historic area. Having more people know about it doesn't benefit us in any way. I mean, we're not realtors or anything. We're just people who live in the Philadelphia area, who know about the Reserve, who felt it should have an article describing it because it is significant. I don't see where it violates the inclusion criteria. If I'm mistaken about what you meant by g11, please let me know. I'm not really up on these things. But I can definitely say that the article was NOT an ad. It grew out of a need to have all the available information in one area, for people to refer to, since so many people were asking about the development - and not just local people. Visitors from other countries were asking for how to get more information about it. So we thought it would be a useful article. Obviously you felt differently. If you can explain the problem, that would be great. Any other suggestions on where to put the information would be appreciated. And before you ask - no, I have no idea why people care about it, but there it is, people do :) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Webhill (talk • contribs) 20:19, 22 February 2007 (UTC).
[edit] Fuzzy Zoeller edit controversyHello, there. As you may or may not know, the Miami Herald recently revealed that professional golfer Fuzzy Zoeller has filed a lawsuit against Josef Silny & Associates, Inc. for adding false statements to his Wikipedia biography. For data gathering purposes, an SRS of 20 administrators has been created, you being one of them. I would like you to comment on this situation and its possible implications to Wikipedia, the accused company, and the general welfare of the community in general. (To what extent will this impact Wikipedia? To what extent will this impact those who use Wikipedia often? To what extent is the company guilty? Who do you believe is at fault?) Feel free to comment however you wish. I ask that you email me your responses via my emailuser page so as to reduce bias in your responses. (Again, don't post your responses on my talk page.) The following are articles from various news agencies that you may use to inform yourself about the situation: Miami Herald, Herald Tribune, Web Pro News, The Smoking Gun. I thank you for taking your time to express your opinion.
