The highlight of this season, especially in terms of publicity for the series, was the three-episode finale arc. "West End Girls", "Goin' Down the Road, Part 1", and "Goin' Down the Road, Part 2" featured Kevin Smith playing himself, along with Jason Mewes and (in a cameo) Alanis Morissette, as he came to Degrassi Community School to film Jay and Silent Bob Go Canadian, Eh!, a fictitious part of his View Askewniverse. Smith and Mewes would later return in Season 5.
