[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:RN-Insen.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:RN-Insen.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit] Autechre
Please stop adding a gallery to this article; use of fair-use images in this way is not allowed. --Mel Etitis (Talk) 18:45, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
- Many musician pages have galleries containing discographies and the inline images are fair-use. Please cease from removing this gallery. AlexReynolds 18:55, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
-
- That other articles are misusing images is not reason for this one to. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing for insisting on using fair-use images incorrectly. --Mel Etitis (Talk) 18:59, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
-
-
- Until you provide a reference to specific rule that says artist pages should not contain discographies which use fair-use images, you are hereby being given fair warning not to do this again. AlexReynolds 19:02, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
-
The template on the images themselves makes clear what they can and can't be used for, and our fair-use policy emphasises that, as Quiddity has pointed out. --Mel Etitis (Talk) 20:24, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
- Quiddity's link to Wikipedia:Fair_use#Images does not appear to indicate that fair-use images cannot be used within galleries or discographies. The Image template calls for usage "to illustrate the audio recording in question", which is the intended purpose of a discography. Please cite the specific guideline that explains the reason for your edit. Thanks. AlexReynolds 22:43, 11 February 2007 (UTC)

- "Cover art: Cover art from various items, for identification and critical commentary (not for identification without critical commentary)." I'm not sure how much clearer it could be. --Mel Etitis (Talk) 12:34, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
-
-
- That's a dubious interpretation as the reason you gave for deletion. The items are being identified and the critical commentary is in the artist page. Since I have been threatened repeatedly I think this will be better handled with mediation at this juncture. Thanks. AlexReynolds 14:23, 12 February 2007 (UTC)

There is no critical commentary of the cover art — which would, of needed at all, be appropriate for articles on the albums, not in the article on the band. --Mel Etitis (Talk) 15:33, 12 February 2007 (UTC)
