KCXX aired a few different music formats before adopting the modern rock music format which included a simulcast of now defunct KACE in Inglewood, California airing a urban adult contemporary music format branded as "V 103.9" with the call letters KBAV.
KCXX adopted the modern rock music format on December 31, 1994 and has made several changes to their playlist.
