Rudolph or Rudolf is a male first name, and, less commonly, a surname. It's a Germanic name deriving from 2 stems. One being "Rod" or "Hrôdh", meaning "fame", and "olf" meaning "wolf" (see also Hroðulf). Roughly the names original meaning was "famous wolf".[1]
