Nagorno-Karabakh
From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Nagorno-Karabakh is a place between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Armenia and Azerbaijan both want it to be part of their countries. Most of the people in Nagorno-Karabakh are Armenians, but it was part of Azerbaijan during the Soviet Union. Most other countries agree that it is part of Azerbaijan. However, an Armenian army controls the area and has chased many Azeris out. This caused a problem because Azerbaijan has many people who came from Nagorno-Karabakh who are now living as refugees ( people who leave their homes because of danger ). The area is mountainous, and can have earthquakes.
