Marie Curie

Maria Skłodowska-Curie (November 7, 1867 – July 4, 1934),was a Polish-French physicist and chemist. The name given to her at birth was Maria Skłodowska but she was known in France where she lived for most of her life as Marie Curie or Madame Curie. She made many new discoveries to do with radioactivity. She was the first person to win two Nobel Prizes. Curie is the only person to win two Nobel prizes for different sciences. She was the first female professor at the Sorbonne. She was born in Warsaw in Poland. She lived there until she was 24 years old.
She is well known because she made found out many important facts about Radium and Polonium (Radium and Polonium are radioactive elements).
