Brief summary: To avoid having SpongeBob spend another year at boating school, Mrs. Puff gives him his driver's license. But SpongeBob could cause lots of mayhem, so Mrs. Puff has to think of a way to get his driver's license back.

Mrs. Puff's appearance in this episode.

This is SpongeBob's last driving exam for the year, and as usual, he performs very poorly. He earns a score of 6, while he needs 600 to pass. SpongeBob is excited because he has to spend another year at boating school. Mrs. Puff doesn't want this, so she gives SpongeBob a bogus extra-credit assignment so she can be rid of SpongeBob. After that, she gives him his driver's license. She considers the consequences, which are potentially quite chaotic. At her house, there is a surprise party for her. SpongeBob's parents give him a new boat-mobile, and they go home. SpongeBob sneaks out of bed and sleeps in his new boat-mobile, and Mrs. Puff attempts to steal it. She doesn't realise that SpongeBob is in it, and she is caught by the police.

This episode's convoluted plot owes much to the surrealistic films of David Lynch.
The scene where the Boatmobile jumps and straight into the police car, it makes a Spoof from The Dukes Of Hazzard. Where the General Lee make jumps and being chased by the police.
Spongebob says that the radio station is K-R-U-D. If you pronounce it, it's 'crud'.

The accident company has the same phone number as the Tattletale Strangler (555-1234).
On YTV airings of this episode, SpongeBob says "With all your personal 'You won't get away with stealing my car!' hits." but captions say "With all your 'you won't get away with stealing my car!'".
This episode breaks the fourth wall, when the narrator gets hit by SpongeBob during the driving test.
After the surprise that SpongeBob and his parents held for Mrs. Puff, when the camera shifts back on Mrs. Puff you can see a small picture of Mrs. Puff entering her door surprised just like she was when she entered the door.
When Ms. Puff gives SpongeBob his drivers license, he licks it and comments "It tastes just like I dreamt it would." This is an obvious reference to the episode "Sleepy Time" in which he dreams he holds a drivers license and licks it.
After Spongebob and his parents leave her house, Mrs. Puff says, "I gotta move out of town and change my name! No, not again." This may mean that this is not her real name.
After the scene when Spongebob breaks the camera, you can see a broken camera, along with an underwater mask and a pair of legs and flippers.
When Spongebob is being grated (By cheesegraters) His eyes come out the graters twice.
Ms. Puff doesn't need help being deflated.

SpongeBob: Wha’ happened?

Mrs. Puff: Oh, nothing SpongeBob, you just struck another pedestrian. (writes on clipboard) Minus 20 more points…

SpongeBob: How many does that leave me with?

Mrs. Puff: Negative 224.

SpongeBob: How many more minutes left in the test?

Mrs. Puff: The test is over.

SpongeBob: That’s enough time, I can make up those points! (SpongeBob is about to pull into reverse)

Mrs. Puff: No, SpongeBob, you didn’t hear me! (the boat rams into reverse; Mrs. Puff screams. She pleads SpongeBob to stop as SpongeBob knocks over a whole row of cones, drives through a brick wall and crashes in front of the school's main building. The dust clears)

SpongeBob: Okay, Mrs. Puff, what’s my final score?

Mrs. Puff: 6.

SpongeBob: Whoo! And how many do I need to pass?

Mrs. Puff: 6...

SpongeBob: (raising arms slowly) Oooooooooooo….

Mrs. Puff: …hundred.

SpongeBob: Huh?

Mrs. Puff: Six hundred. You need six hundred to pass... you got six.

(At the Bikini Bottom jail)

SpongeBob: Are you kidding? You're the only teacher for this student. And besides, the warden says she'll let you go early! If you do her a favor.

Mrs. Puff: What's that?

SpongeBob: Free Driving Lessons! (starts laughing)

(In SpongeBob's boat)

SpongeBob: Who are you and what are you doing in my boat, and why are you wearing that ski-mask? BECAUSE YOU'RE NOT SKIING! Oh my gosh, I know who you are!

Mrs. Puff: No you don't, you don't know who I am!

SpongeBob: Yes I do, I know that you're... a boat jacker! I never thought I would have to use this pepper spray. (SpongeBob sprays pepper spray into his own eyes) AHH, SOMEBODY HELP ME... SOMEBODY HELP ME!

(Outskirts of downtown Bikini Bottom)

SpongeBob: Nothing will stop me...not even... GIANT CLAMS!!! Ouch ouch ooh ouch...

SpongeBob: I won't let go...not even for CHEESE GRATERS!!!

SpongeBob: If you think I’ll let go just for a little... EDUCATIONAL TELEVISION??? OOOOOOOOOOOHHH NOOOOOO!!! AHHHHHHH!!!

Mrs. Puff: Looks like that got rid of him. Now for some tunes...

SpongeBob (as radio): And now back to K-R-U-D with all of your personal "you won't get away with stealing my car!" hits.

(News Broadcast)
